A favorite destination among tourists has fast been becoming a favorite destination for home owners and is one of the city’s strongest real estate markets. Emerald View Park is over 200 acres of wooded trails, reforestation efforts, play grounds, athletic fields and picnic areas. It a great place for sports leagues, dog walking, jogging, hiking, yoga classes, festivals and more. The park was started by a local neighborhood organization The Mount Washington Community Development Corporation. This organization has spearheaded multiple other projects that have benefitted the community and they continue to enhance the quality of life in both Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights to this day. There are also Neighbors On The Mount and For the Love of Mount Washington groups as well that conduct clean, safe and green initiatives year round.
Lastly, the neighborhood just celebrated the re opening of the Mount Washington branch of the Carnegie Libraryafter a multi million dollar renovation and expansion. There are new homes, real estate developments and other investments into the community happening everyday…All the more reason to put Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights on the top of your list when searching for a home in Pittsburgh.
